Sarah Kalin

Sarah Ellen Holloway Kalin, age 78 passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at her residence in Crouse, NC.  She was born July 4, 1942 in Shenandoah County, Virginia, to the late Charles and Ruth Enfield Holloway.  Sarah was a member of Victory Grove Baptist Church in Lincolnton.  She loved to be outside working in her garden and flowers, raising her chickens, and fishing.  She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting.  Sarah loved spending times with her neighbors, friends, and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings.

Survivors include her husband, Mose Kalin; daughter, Mona Marie McCurry of Gulf Breeze, FL; sister, Fannie “Buck” Grandstaff of Woodstock, VA; grandchildren, Kalin Marie Wellman and husband, Brian, Heather Renee McCurry, Autumn Nicole McCurry; great grandchildren, Hannah Wellman, Madison Wellman, Isabelle Wellman, Kenzi Wellman, Jaiden Wellman, and Emily Bright.

A time of remembrance will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services in Cherryville, NC.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mt. Jackson, Virginia with Rev. Clay Ledford officiating.
