Mike Barkley

Harold Michael “Boo Boo” Barkley, age 68, of Candice Court, passed away peacefully at home Sunday December 8, 2019. He was born April 11, 1951 in Lincoln County to the late John Walter and Edith Wease Lowe Barkley.

Mike enjoyed restoring old cars. He participated with the New Year’s Shooters for many years. He also was retired from the City of Cherryville Public Works. Mike loved his family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Poole.

Left to cherish his memory is loving wife of 21 years, Jannette Hicks Barkley; daughter, Brandy Sipe (T.J.) of Lincolnton; stepsons, John Oxentine (Paula) of Boone, and James Oxentine (Norma) of Cherryville; step-daughter, Teresa Jones (Gene Ray) of Sharon, SC.; brother, Edward Barkley; sisters, Harriet Smith, Jackie Lockman, and Martha Abee; 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday December 10, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

Burial will be private.
