Greg Falls

October 9, 1948 — May 16, 2019

As a result of a vehicle accident, Gregory Scott Falls, age 70, passed away on May 16, 2019 in Bremerton, WA where he resided.  He was born on October 9, 1948 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Harold Lewis Falls and the late Jacqueline Wallace Falls Davis.

A 1966 graduate of Cherryville High School, Greg attended Lenoir Rhyne University and graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a degree in sociology.  An avid student of world religions, he engaged in extensive research on the subject and traveled over the United States and Europe in an attempt to enhance his knowledge.  Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, he was a member and attended the Russian Orthodox Church in Bremerton.  His original work in Bremerton was that of a Counselor at Kitsap Mental Health at Harrison Hospital.

Known in his neighborhood for his love of animals, he took a special interest in finding and providing shelter for homeless cats.

Greg is survived by his step-father, Mr. Jack Davis of Cherryville; a large number of close family members, his schoolmates, and especially his longtime friend, Mr. Joe Gainey of Cherryville and Charlotte.

A service for inurnment of ashes will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services handling arrangements.  Pastor Ben Kifer of St. John’s will officiate.
