Donald Stamey

Donald Walter Stamey, age 79, of Estate Dr. passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at his residence.  He was born November 17, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Charles Donald Stamey and Mary Lucille Grigg.

Mr. Stamey was employed as a Furniture repairman with Cochran Furniture for nearly 30 years. He had a unique talent for woodworking and building furniture. Donald had a unique ability of making beautiful furniture, decorative crosses and  landscaping ornaments for the yard.  Donald had a love for horses. Many years ago Donald had a gift with horses as he would nourish and train them for shows. Donald was also a member of Rock Fitness where he would meet and socialize with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Stamey and C.V. Stamey.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donna Renee Stamey Jones (Glenn), Cindy Moretz (Mike), and Johnny Walter Stamey (Maelia); brothers, Mackey Stamey (Freda) and Chris Stamey (Teresa); sisters, Rita Martin (Daniel) and Brenda Hardin; and four grandchildren, Jackson Lail, Petyon Stamey, Addison Stamey, and Shasta Oxendine; numerous great-grandchildren.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Vale with Pastor Danny Martin officiating.

A private gathering of family and friends will follow at Hulls Grove Baptist Church, Vale.
