Mrs. Virginia Gay Beach Knight, age 95 of 1121 Jennifer Lane, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at home. Virginia was born, December 28, 1914 in Gastonia, the daughter of the late Rev. J. J. Beach and Roxanna Carlton Beach. A member of the First Presbyterian Church, Cherryville, she was retired from Cherryville National Bank as a Bookkeeper after more than 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mack Arthur Knight; daughter Patsy K. McSwain; brothers: Ralph Beach, Vernon Beach, Fred Beach and John Beach.
Survivors: son: Jerry A. Knight and wife Linda of Ft. Mill, S. C. Daughter: Frances K. Lambeth and husband Tim of Greensboro, N. C. Special care giver: Kathy McSwain, granddaughter of Shelby, N. C 7 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Billy Lowe officiating burial to follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
