Timothy Lee McGinnis, 65 ,of 408 Spring St. died March 11, 2009 at his residence.
He was born on February 16, 1944 in Gaston
Co a son of the late Roy Lee and Rachel Rhodes McGinnis. Tim was a
member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and retired from ABF and Carolina
Freight Carriers as a local driver and yard man. He also was a former
New Year Shooter, member of Teamster Local #71 and a proud veteran of
the US Marine Corp having served in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife Tracy Arthurs McGinnis,
six children Chad McGinnis and wife Kim of Cherryville, Leann Huffman
of Crouse, Johnna Whitesides and husband Greg of Lincolnton, Mindy
Dyson of Cherryville, Stevie-Marie Hoyle and Whitney McGinnis both of
Cherryville, nine grandchildren, and a brother Randy McGinnis and wife
Carol of Ashville, Ala.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Susie McGinnis.
A Memorial service will be held Friday at 3 PM at
Cherryville Country Club with Mr. Jimmy Adams presiding. Burial will be
private. The family will receive friends Friday at the Country Club
from 1-2:45 PM and at other times at the home.
Carpenter’s is serving the McGinnis Family.
