Ted David Dellinger, 76, of 2480 Highway 150, died August 14, 2011 at Cardinal Care in Lincolnton.
 
He was born on October 4, 1934 in Lincoln County a son of the late Ernest and Ivey Devine Dellinger. Ted was of the Baptist Faith, veteran of the US Army and formerly employed at the C. B. Dellinger Grocery, Crouse and the 321 Mini Mart.
 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Frankie Neil Dellinger,  a son Joel David Dellinger, a brother Frank Dellinger, and three sisters Margaret Dellinger, Lena Cody, and Sue George.
 
Survivors include his wife Mary Katherine Ross Dellinger, son Ernest Ted Dellinger of Cherryville, two step children Judy Lee Armstrong of Lincolnton, and John David Jenkins of Granite Falls, a sister Jane and Rev. Darrell Bost of Crouse, brothers Boyd and Beatrice Dellinger of Crouse, and Jerry Pope of Crouse, two grandchildren Blaine Jenkins and Eric Armstrong.
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home at 2 PM with Rev. Darrell Bost and Rev. Jerry Lail officiating with burial in city Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30-8 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
