At Carpenter's Funeral Home we offer a variety of services to meet the individual and unique needs of our families.  Our professional, compassionate staff will offer excellent assistance in the areas of traditional funeral services, cremation options, or pre-planning depending on your needs or wishes.  Additionally we offer assistance helping complete forms for social security, veteran's benefits, insurance, will and probate.

Service Options

Traditional:

Our most often selected service will be tailored to meet the individual desires of your family.  Most often a traditional service includes a visitation and viewing with either an open or closed casket.  A member of the clergy usually officiates the service that will be held in the funeral home chapel or church of choice.  The service usually concludes with a procession to a cemetery and a graveside service.  

Graveside: 

The funeral director along with family and friends will gather at the cemetery for a service along the graveside.  Usually conducted by a member of the clergy and often includes a eulogy, readings and music.  The funeral home director will be available to provide transportation to and from the cemetery as needed. 

Traditional Service with Cremation:

A traditional service with either private or public viewing may be followed by a cremation service.  Likewise, burial of ashes, may either be private or public service and may take place at a later date.

Cremation:

Carpenter Funeral Home provides a wide variety of cremation options including

ceremonial caskets, cremation with memorial service, and direct cremation.  

Ceremonial Casket: 

The Ceremonial casket is designed for families wishing a visitation and funeral service followed by cremation.  Use of a ceremonial casket eliminates the cost of purchasing a casket for the visitation period. 

Cremation with Memorial Service:

Includes immediate cremation followed by a Memorial Service. The memorial service may take place at our funeral home, a church or another place chosen by the family. This is a time to remember a loved one through fellowship with friends and family. 

Direct Cremation:

The body is cremated shortly after death, without embalming. The cremated remains are placed in an urn or other container. No viewing or visitation is involved.  In North Carolina, there is a 24 hour waiting period after the time of death before cremation can be performed.  

Pre-arrangements: 

More and more people are discovering the advantages of planning a funeral in advance of need.  It is wise to make your wishes known ahead of time.  Pre-arrangements can provide you with peace of mind and spare family members  confusion and anxiety.  Any type of service can be pre-arranged.  Pre-payment is not required to pre-plan. 

Video Tribute:

We offer to produce a tribute video using your loved ones cherished photos.  Combined with special scenes and background music, this keepsake can be played during visitation and after the funeral it will be yours to treasure and share it family and friends.   

Additional Documentation Services Provided

Insurance Companies:

Dealing with insurance companies may be intimidating to you.  Our experienced staff will work with your family to submit information and secure benefits from insurance companies for your family.

Veteran Benefit Forms:

Our expert staff will assist your family in completing and submitting all necessary veteran benefit forms.

Social Security:

On your behalf, our office staff will notify the Social Security Administration that a death has occurred in order to secure social security death benefits for your family.
