Ruth Pearl Phillips, 93, of Cherryville, died August 26, 2009 at Brian Center. She was born September 28 1915 in South Carolina, a daughter of the late Ausney T. and Dovie Chapman Newton. Ruth was retired from Doran Textile and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Anderson Phillips.
Survivors include a son Jimmy A. Phillips of Cherryville, three grandchildren, Robin Rhyne , of Crouse, Lori McSwain, Cherryville, Roxanne Mosteller of Vale, and Two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at City Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Dennis Bean officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 12:30 – 1:00 PM. prior to the service.
