Robert “Bobby” Lewis Bess, Jr., 66 of 934 St. Mark’s Church Road, died February 22, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Bobby was born in Cleveland County, December 16, 1944 the son of Robert Lewis Bess, Sr. of Cherryville and the late, Margaret Louise Woolley Bess. He was owner and operator of Bess Dairy. Bobby was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Air Force.
Survivors in addition to his father include his wife of 45 years, Angie Cordova Bess, of the home, a son Robert Lewis Bess, III of Cherryville, two daughters, Cheryl Campbell and husband Todd of Charlotte and Cindy Craft of Cherryville, a sister Karen Bridges and husband Larry of Cherryville, six grandsons, Chris, Jordan, Kenan, Ethan, and Brendan Campbell, and Tyler Lewis Bess.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home.
