Ralph Lee Anthony, 88, of 1011 West Church St. died Sept. 13, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Cleveland Co. on July 21, 1921 a son of the late David Lee and Margaret Jane Huss Anthony. Mr. Anthony was retired from Howell Manufacturing as an overseer with 55 years of service. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II and member of the VFW.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years Nell Proctor Anthony, a daughter Teresa Anthony of Cross Hill, SC, two grandsons Jason Anthony Willis and companion Kim Greathouse of Cherryville and Justin Lee Willis and wife Melissa of Cherryville, two great grandchildren Alexanndria Willis and Kristen Currie, all of Cherryville, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Barney.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating with burial to follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 6-8 PM and at other times at the home.
