Pinke Lee Sanders, 80, of Jacob St., died November 15, 2009 at Carolina Care Center. She was born in Lincoln Co. on March 31, 1929 a daughter of the late Winfield Scott and Mary Elizabeth Freedell Campbell. Pinkie was a longtime member of North Brook Baptist Church and retired from Gigi Mfg.
The family would like to thank Carolina Care Center and Hospice of Cleveland Co. for the excellent and loving care provided to Mrs. Sanders during her illness.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Sanders, two sons Nickie Joe Sanders and Clyde Thomas Sanders, four brothers J. R., Bud, Scott, and Emmanuel Campbell, two sisters Wilma Davidson and Laura Annie Campbell.
Survivors include her daughter Lawana Lee Yarbrough and husband Tom, of Winston Salem, two sons Scott Sanders and wife Cathy of Gastonia and Richard Sanders and wife Pam of Lincolnton five grandchildren Jared Scott Sanders, Brent Stephen Sanders and wife Chelsea, Elizabeth Lee Yarbrough, Adam Thomas Yarbrough and Samantha Nicole Yarbrough, a brother Johnny Campbell of Cherryville, four sisters Frances Hord, of Cherryville, Sue Sneed of Waco, Katherine Mull of Waco, and Louise Adams of Cherryville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at North Brook Baptist Church at 2 PM with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Johnny and Patty Campbell, Paul Beam Rd., Cherryville.
