Peggy Jean Black, age 76, of 1386 Overbrook Trail, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at Carolina Regional Medical Center, Lincolnton.  Peggy was a native of Cherokee County, S. C., born August 3, 1933 the daughter of the late Lonnie McCoy and Sussie Estell Ramsey Roberts.  She was formerly employed by Rhyne Mills, Lincolnton and a member of Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Joann Lynch.

 

  • Survivors:  Husband of 47 years, James Ray Black, of the home
  •  Sons: Wayne Hoyle of Cherryville and Stowe Hoyle of Vale
  • Daughters:  Pat Drewery, of Lawndale,  Jean Hester of Crouse
  • sixteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM, Monday, June 21, 2010 at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Cook officiating. Burial will be at the Hester Family Cemetery, 5010 Yoder Road, Crouse, 28033. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home.
