Nellie Sue Russ Froneberger Cornwell 75, formerly of Cherryville, died March 5, 2009 at Cardinal Care in Lincolnton. Born June 6, 1933 in Gaston County, a daughter of the late Paul and Sallie Sisk Russ. Nellie was a homemaker and mother. She was preceded in death by her husbands, C.B. Froneberger and John Paul Cornwell and a daughter Susan Jolly and brothers, Robert Russ and “Doc”Russ and sisters, Edna Barker, Mary Beal and Mae Black..
She is survived by two sons, Gary Lee Froneberger and wife Mary Ann of Crouse, Michael Lynn Froneberger and wife Jessica of Waco, a daughter Cathy Black and husband, Jerry of Ocean Isle, N.C., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 7, at 3:00 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Marty Ramey officiating and burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday March 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
