Murlene Hudson Bridges, 85 of 309 S. Mulberry St., died December 21, 2011 at her residence.  Murl was born on October 1, 1926 a daughter of the late Plato and Ethel Hoyle Hudson. She was retired from Carlton Yarn of Cherryville,  NC Spinning in Lincolnton,  and was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church.
 
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Lee Bridges, a granddaughter, Summer Bridges, grandson, Marty Rudisill, , brother, Pete Hudson and sister Hazel Hallman.
 
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Bridges of Cherryville, Carl Bridges and wife Anita of Cherryville, three daughters, Cathy Stone and husband John, Debbie Bridges, Kim Holtsclaw and husband Rev. Bobby, all of Cherryville, grandchildren, Jason Self, of Charleston, SC, Joseph Bridges, Cherryville, Lindsey Hathaway of Charlotte, Heather Stone of Cherryville,  Nikki Via of Belmont, Dustin Hoyle, Quinton Holtsclaw and Sarah Holtsclaw and Jimmy Rudisill  and Karen Craft all of Cherryville.   Nineteen Great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 3:00 PM at
Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating.  Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
