Mozelle Poole Blanton, 79, of 2057 Eaker Dr., died Dec. 21, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Blanton was born on August 23, 1932 a daughter of the late Harrison and Annie Lail Poole. She was a member of the Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church, member of the American Legion Post 100 Ladies Aux., volunteer at the Cherryville Historical Museum, and a member of the Cherryville Area Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Benny Blanton on Sept. 13,2011, and two brothers Roy Lail and Lloyd Poole.
Survivors include her son David W. “Herb” Blanton and wife Betty of Cherryville, grandsons David Keith Blanton and wife Christina of Cherryville, and Chase Blanton of Cherryville, two great grandchildren Jayden and Ja’mya Blanton and a sister Helen “Teety” Poole McFarland of Cherryville, and her beloved dog Copper.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday Dec. 27, 2011 at 3 PM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating with burial in City memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
