M. Douglas Whitworth, 44, of 169 Brown Watterson Rd., died November 17, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 5, 1967 in Lincoln co. a son of the Mason Whitworth of Lincolnton and Mary Hamilton Whitworth of Cherryville.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters Vickie Silver and husband Michael of Cherryville and Betty Blanton and husband Herb of Cherryville, and several nieces nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Key officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 2-2:45 PM and at other times at the home.
