Mary Joan Adams Peeler, age 66 of Bessemer City, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory. She was born in Mt. Holly, N. C. on March 2, 1945, the daughter of the late George Lewin and Sadie Faye Redding Adams. Joan was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, devoted and loved sister. She was also preceded in death by a sister Verline Pruitt and brothers, George and Tom Adams.
Survivors: husband of 45 years, Lonnie C. Peeler of the home, four daughters and their husbands: Talina and Dean Short, Dena and Reggie Blalock , all of Kings Mountain, Dana Hamrick, of Shelby Deandra and Robbie Morgan, of Bessemer City, brother: Charles Adams of Kings Mountain, Sisters: Lilly Reynolds, of Crouse, Linda Adams, of Monroe, Donna Heavner, of Lincolnton, Cecelia Thomann, of Acworth, Ga., Grandchildren: Steven Short, Monica Miller, Aymie Williams, Matthew Morgan, Tyler Morgan, and Jayson Hamrick. Great Grandchildren; Autumn, Steven, jr., Benjamin, Jaden, Addyson, and Makayla.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Friday, December 9, 2011 at Anthony’s Grove Baptist Church, Crouse, N. C. with Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends the day of the service at the church, from 2:00PM to 2:45PM and other times at the home.
