Martha Jane Turner, 71, of 1460 Paige St., Gastonia, formerly of Cherryville, died Sept. 21, 2009 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House.
She was born on March 11, 1938 a daughter of the late A. C. and Mary Mittie Russ Turner. Martha was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Thelma Browne.
Survivors include her daughter Michelle T. Allen and husband Micah of Gastonia, son Gary Turner of Vale, sister and brother in law Connie and Hillard Wise of Cherryville, brother and sister in law Al and Betty Turner of Cherryville, granddaughter Danielle Connor of Gastonia, grandson Dustin Turner of Vale, number of nieces and nephews and three special nieces Cheryl McGinnis, Tina Dellinger and Alisa Birchfield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Dr. David Staten and Rev. Rick Fite officiating. Burial will be private at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-6:45 PM at the funeral home.
