Margaret Louise Woolley Bess, age 92, of 920 St. Marks Church Road, died May 31, 2009 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 16, 1916 in Lincoln County,, a daughter of the Late Henry and Oschia M. Pendleton Woolley and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Pete Woolley and Bill Woolley and two sisters, Dorothy Yount and Lena Greene.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years Robert Lewis Bess, Sr., a son Bobby Bess and wife Angie and a daughter Karen Bridges and husband Larry both from Cherryville, grandchildren, Tina Witherspoon, Susan Hamilton, Lisa Helms, Cheryl Campbell and husband Todd, Cindy Craft, Robert Bess, III and wife Julie, eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 1, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
