Marcellar Walker Jones age 81, of
111 Harrelson Road passed away September 26, 2009 at Carolina Care
Center. She was born March 28, 1928 in Cleveland County a daughter of
the Late Forrest and Mary Walker. Marcellar was a homemaker.
In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jonas
David Jones, a sister Laura Helen Black and a brother Roscoe Walker.
Survivors
include a son J.D. Jones and wife Diane of Charlotte, daughters, Mary
Jane Patterson and husband Larry of Waco, Frances Arrowood of Raleigh,
Sherrie Thompson of Lincolnton, eight grandchildren, fifteen great
grandchildren and one great great grandchild, two brothers Johnny
Walker of Waco, Buster Walker of Lincolnton and a sister, Mary Lou
Watts of Lincolnton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
September 29, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s
Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be
private. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM prior to
the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at
the home of her granddaughter Cindy Hoyle, 1118 Cherryville Hwy.
