Louise Ray Schrum, age 89, of 104 Terrace Drive, passed from this life, January 4, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. She was born November 7, 1919, in Gastonia, the daughter of the late Paul and Flettie Pendleton Ray. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Aunt Sally Quinn‘s Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Blair Charles Schrum, sister: Margaret Hovis, brothers: Leonard Ray , Raymond Ray, Everette Ray and Jack Grigg.

Survivors: Sons: Vance Schrum and Linda of Davidson

Jerry Schrum and Jean, of Indian Trail

Daughters: Brenda McNeely and Bill of Cherryville

Drenna Strickland and Dwight, of Greensboro

Brother: Kenneth Grigg, Mobile, Ala.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00PM Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Billy Lowe and Rev. Roland “Beau” Hamner officiating. Interment will be in the Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Brenda McNeely. The family will receive friends the day of the service at the church from 1:30PM to 2:45PM.
