Lois Janette Huss Hayes, age 89 of 700 Self Street died October 14, 2011 at Peak Resources.  Lois was born, March 16, 1922 in Gaston County a daughter of the Late Coley Pinkney “Berge” and Annie Beam Huss.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
 
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Malcom Hayes. Brothers Coley Huss and William Frank Huss.
 
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Hayes and wife Sherry and Frankie “Doodle” Hayes and wife Josephine all of Cherryville, a daughter, Barbara Edwards and Husband  Harold of Lincolnton, eight grandchildren, Jeff Hayes, Colman Hayes, Ashley Hayes, Jody L. Hayes, Kim Angel, Terry Walker, Todd Walker and Tonda Walker, 10 Great Grandchildren. One brothers Jack Huss and wife Pansy, and one sister, Betty H. McSwain. All of Cherryville.
 
Funeral Services will be held October 17, 2011 at 3:00  at St. John’s Lutheran Church with   Rev. Dr. Robert Allen  officiating,  Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from  1:15 PM,  to 2:45PM in the Ladies Parlor of the St. John’s Lutheran Church.
 
Carpenter’s Funeral Home is serving the Hayes family.
