Lila Mae Byers Neill, 83, of Cascade St., formerly of Cherryville, died January 27, 2011 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Neill was born in Gaston Co. on May 5, 1927 a daughter of the late William Jennings Brian and Mollie Bright Runnell Byers. She was formerly employed at the Carleton and Rhyne Houser Mills and retired from Mooresville Mill.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter Gail Huffstetler and three brothers Bud, James and Jr. Byers.
Survivors include her husband Giles Neill, son Ben Neill and wife Peggy of Terrell, three grandchildren Wendy Hubbard, Sandy Tenjhay and Tim Neill, and seven great grandchildren and a sister Elizabeth Jolley of Shelby.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating with burial in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 2-2:$% PM.
