Kenneth Wayne Lanier, 51, of 6061 Sandal Court, died May 4, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 9, 1958 in Union S.C. a son of Pansy Mize Doby of Iron Station and the late Bobby Eugene Lanier, Sr.
He was employed by MAC/Fab in Mt. Holly as a metal fabricator.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 32 years Shelia Sue Melton Lanier, two sons Kenny Lanier, Jr and wife Mandi of Lowell and Kent Lanier of Bessemer City, two grandchildren Aubrey and Kody lanier, brothers Bobby Lanier of Belmont, Randy Lanier of Stanley, Michael Lanier of Stanley, and step brother Travis Doby of Concord and Father-in-law R. J. Melton of Lowell.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Arrowood officiating with burial in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 2:30-3:45 pm and at other times at his sons home 704 McAdenville Rd., Lowell.
