Kenneth Stowe Dellinger, 67, of Fairways Drive, died Friday July 23, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
He was born on October 21, 1942 in Lincoln co. a son of the late Stowe Phillip and Pansy Huss Dellinger. Ken was a 1964 graduate of Western Carolina University and 1980 graduate of UNC Young Executives Institute of Professional Management. He was employed for twenty eight years by Doran Textiles and seventeen years by American Efird as Vice President of Manufacturing.
Mr. Dellinger was active in his community and church. He was a member of the Cherryville Lions Club for forty two years, past Master of the Cherryville Masonic Lodge AM & FM #505 and a Master Mason, member of the Cherryville Shrine Club, past president and member of the board of directors of the Cherryville Country Club, various capacities of the United Way, and member and presently Chairman of the Board of directors at the NC Center for Applied Textile Technology. He was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served on church council and past president, a member of the Men’s Bible Class and Lutheran Men in Mission.
He is survived by his wife of forty six years Patsy Green Dellinger, son Mark Dellinger of Charlotte, sister and brother in law Danna and Frank Henley of Cherryville, three nephews Christopher and Lisa Henley of Tega Cay, SC, Steven and Veronica Henley of Charlotte, and Jonathan Henley of Cherryville, two great nieces Caroline and Anna Catherine Henley, and two great nephews Jacob and Luke Henley.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Allen officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery with full Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Sunday at the home from 3-6 PM.
