Julia Kathleen “Kay” Eaker Sain, 80 of 3958 West Hwy. died July 23, 2009 at Carolina’s Medical Center, Charlotte. She was born November 15, 1928 a daughter of the late John Wesley and Laura Bingham Eaker. Kay was a homemaker and a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, made crafts, loved camping, and was a member of the Good Sam‘s Club of Cherryville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Benjamin Sain a brother, Quinton Eaker and two sisters Hazel Harrelson and Jessie Howell.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy S. Heafner and husband Tommy of Crouse, Beth Sain of Lincolnton, brother Dwight Eaker, of Crouse, grandchildren, Jeff Heafner, Tamara and Dean Rhyne of Crouse, Cain and Kari Hallman of Lincolnton, Luke and Tonya Hallman, of Lincolnton, Great-Grandchildren, Ashley Rhyne, Ethan Hallman, Adison Rhyne, Tanner Heafner, Carter Heafner, Chase Hallman and Laney Mae Hallman.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Messiah United Methodist Church in Lincolnton with the Rev. Bill Draughn officiating with burial to follow in the Zion Church Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 25, at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, Cherryville from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
