Joseph Hullender ,80 of 236 St. Luke Rd., Kings Mountain, died October 8, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Cleveland County born June 20, 1930, a son of the late Frank Hullender and Maggie Davis Hullender. Mr. Hullender was retired Electrical Engineer with the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers, a member of Second Baptist Church and a US Air Force, Korea War veteran.
Survivors include his wife Mary Elizabeth Harrell Hullender of the home, four sons and daughter-in-laws, Billy Hullender and wife Brenda of Crestview Fla, Benjamin Hullender and wife Cristy, of Monroe, NC, Joseph Hullender, Jr. and wife Denise, of Kings Mountain, John Hullender and wife Adriene of New Port News, Va., two daughters, Diane Wilson and husband James of Cherryville, Phillis Nelson and husband Jackie, of Kings Mountain, one brothers, David Hullender and wife Margaret, of Kings Mountain, eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Staton officiating. Burial will follow in Kings Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:45 at the church.
