John Paul Stroupe (June 13,1931 to September  18, 2009) passed peacefully in his sleep at his home at Carolina Care in Cherryville, N.C.  He is preceded in death by his parents Winifred L. and Geneva  K. Stroupe, his brothers David and Drayton, and his sisters Caroleen Thompson, Virginia Stowers and Margaret.  He is survived by brothers Craig of Orlando, Florida and Michael Albert of Raleigh, N.C.

J.P. retired from the Navy and then attended and graduated from the Business School of Belmont Abbey.  He served his community through his accounting business and was a member of Concord Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at Concord Methodist Church, located on the Cherryville-Bessemer City Hwy -274 at 570 Concord Church Rd., at 11AM, Saturday, Oct. 3.  Friends will be received by the family at the church between 10 and 11 prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to Concord Church in J.P.’s memory.
