Joseph Melvin Moss, 74, of Beam St. died February 10, 2010 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House.
He was born April 18, 1935 in Gaston Co. a son of the late George Washington and Macey Louella Devinney Moss. Mr. Moss was a member of First Baptist Church and retired dockworker at Carolina Freight Carriers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Clare Faye McSwain Moss in 1989 and an infant son Joseph Melvin Moss, Jr. in 1969.
Joe is survived by his daughters Tamela Moss of Cherryville and Denise Mull and husband Rodney of Cherryville, brother Fred Moss of Waco, and three grandsons Brandon, Cameron and Ryan.
Funeral services have been rescheduled for Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
