Joel David White, Sr. 70, of 201 Baxter Road, died December 15, 2009 at Carolina
Medical Center Lincolnton.  He was born December 14 1939 in Lincoln County the
son of the Late Albert and Lora Little White. Joel a former cook at Harry O’s
Fish Camp and worked at Food Lion in Dallas.  He was a member of Temple Baptist
Church, Gastonia and was a Marine Corps Veteran.
 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Young
White in 2002, and three brothers, Enoch, Bud  and infant Leondus White.
 
Survivors include two sons David White, Jr. and wife Melody and Mark White all
of Cherryville, a daughter Kim Cogdill and husband William of Cherryville, two
brothers Sam  and Steve White, of Lincolnton, three sisters Helen Helms, of
Lincolnton,  Janet Quinn, of Ohio and Kathy Buchanon of Lincolnton.  Eight
grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be Thursday, at 1:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with
burial in City Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 –
8:00 PM on Wednesday and at other times at the home of Kim and William Cogdill,
Baxter Road, Cherryville.
 
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Second Baptist Church c/o of the
Joel White family.
