Myrtle “Jean” Wehunt Norman, 72. O Forrest Wehunt Rd., died May 5, 2011 at Paliative Care of Catawba Valley.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1938 in Lincoln co. a daughter of the late Cable Forrest and Gertie May Leonhardt Wehunt. Jean was a longtime member of North Brook Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters Helen Wehunt, Rene Brittain, Mavis Davis, and Kay Hull. Survivors include her husband of 54 years Floyd Andy Norman, two sons Chris Norman of Cherryville, Lynn and Donna Norman of Cherryville, two daughters Debbie Norman Fowler of Hickory, and Gina and Darrell Tallent of Casar, daughter-in-law Jodi Bowman of Claremont, five grandson Alan, Scott, Andrew, and Kevin Norman and Travis Tallent, two granddaughters Anna and Robin Norman, and two great grandchildren Ian Cole Norman and Destiny Rector.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2 PM at North Brook Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Pennell officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and at other times at the home.
