Jean Black Lohr, 83, of South Elm St., died Friday July 22, 2011 at Carolina Care Center.
 
Mrs. Lohr was born on January 11, 1928 a daughter of the late J. Lewis and Rena Hord Black. She graduated from Statesville High School, attended Mars Hill College, was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she served faithfully on various committees of the church especially the finance committee. Jean was employed by Cherryville National Bank, Southern National Bank and retired as a VP of BB&T.
 
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Beam.
 
Survivors include her husband of 63 years Keith Gillespie Lohr, two sons Gill Lohr and wife Freida , Lincolnton, Tommy Lohr and wife Susan , Raleigh, two grandchildren Evan Lohr, Knoxville, and Matthew Lohr, Chapel Hill two step grandchildren Tonya Westbrook and husband Charles, Lincolnton and Toby Schronce , Lincolnton.
 
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Dr. Robert Allen officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday in the Ladies Parlor of the church from 3-3:45.
