James Reid Brittain age 76, of 101 E. 6th Street died December 19, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Reid was born May 19, 1935 in Cleveland County a son of the late Robert and Mary Martin Brittain. He was a member of Plains View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, C.L. Brittain and Ambers Brittain.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Brittain of Cherryville and Jesse Brittain, of Vale and two sisters, Carolyn Philbeck, Cherryville and Helen Brittain Greene of Fallston.
Thank you to the Kings Mountain Hospice House for all they did for Reid and the family.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Plains View Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ernest Speagle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Carpenter’s Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
