Irene Bridges Barnett, 77, formerly of 1403 Cherryville Rd., died Tuesday February 2, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 1, 1932 a daughter of the William “Bud” Rabb and Ola Mae Rutledge. Irene was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Bobby E. Bridges, Sr, brother H. B. Bridges and a sister Lucy Deaton.
Survivors include her sons Clarence Barnett, Jr. and wife Teresa and Harvey C. Bridges both of Shelby, sister Lucille Wylie of Shelby, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:30 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Max Turner officiating with burial to follow in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 2-3:15 PM.
