Ida Mae McLean Green Holbrook, 96, of 130 Country Side Dr., died Sunday June 14, 2009 at Carolina Care Center.

She was born in Bryson City, NC on October 12, 1912 a daughter of the late William Seymore and Ida Head McLean. Mrs. Holbrook was retired from Burlington Industries and was member of Fairview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Rev. William Alvin Green and Jess L. Holbrook, a daughter Bonnie Jeanette Swan, three son-in-laws Lummie Davis, Clem Swan, and Ray Stewart, sister in law late Rosa Armstrong Greene, a grandson Mike Swan, six late sisters Heddie Buchanon, Julia Morrison, Bonnie Self Massey, Margie Loftin, Eliza Hyde, and Willie Lunsford.

Survivors are her daughter Violet Stewart Davis, of Cherryville, Son Rev. William S. Greene and wife Joanne of Maiden, eight grandchildren, Vicki Hamrick, Cherryville, Suzanne Lavelle of Metarie, LA, Clem Swan, Oak Island, NC, Cliff Swan, Hot Springs, ARK., Tony Swan, Baton Rouge, LA, Midige Martin, Taylorsville, Monica Ankney, Port Orange, Fla, and Rev. Vincent Greene, of Riverside, California, seventeen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Gladys Green, Gastonia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4pm Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Kyeth Lindsay officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3-3:45pm at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gospel Way Baptist Missions, 3904 Tryon Courthouse Rd., Cherryville, NC 28021
