Harold Ray Davidson, 69, of 406 Oak Grove Drive, died Sept 10, 2010 at Hospice Wendover, Shelby.  He was a native of Cleveland County born June 30, 1941, the son of the late Willard and Mary Melton Davidson.  A US Air Force Vietnam Veteran, retired Local Driver for Carolina Freight Carriers and ABF, after 30 years of service.  A member of Waco Baptist Church, Cherryville American Legion Post 100, Cherryville VFW Post.

Preceded  in death by parents, his wife Wilma Campbell Davidson, a sister, Sybil D. Ledford and a brother Larry Davidson.

Survivors include: a son and spouse Allan and Laura Davidson, of Boiling Springs, a daughter and spouse, Lisa D. and Tim Poteat, of Shelby, four brothers and spouses, Charles and Karen Davidson, Harley and Martha Davidson, both of Shelby,  Carroll and Sharolyn Davidson of Conover, NC, Gene Davidson of Cherryville,  three grandchildren, Brooke Davidson, A.J. Davidson and Jacob Poteat.  A special friend, Judy Barrett, of Waco.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 at Waco Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Harold Fite officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.  Burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery with Cherryville Post 100 presenting the flag and taps.  The family is at the home of Tim and Lisa Poteat, 304 James Love School Road, Shelby and will receive friends at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
