Eunice P. Canipe, 95 of 111 Harrilson Rd., formerly of Howell St., died Wednesday Sept. 23, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in Gaston Co. on May 25, 1914 a daughter of the late James and Etta Bridges Pope. Mrs. Canipe was retired from Howell Manufacturing and a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Andrew Canipe in 1963, two sons Ken and Bud Canipe, a grandson Don Alan Wright and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law Dot and Dennis Wright of Cherryville, daughter in-laws Mildred Putnam and Jeanette Canipe both of Cherryville, two grandsons Charles Andrew Canipe and wife Lisa of Cherryville, and Jerry Canipe of Lincolnton, four great grandsons, two great great grandchildren, brother David Pope and sister Minnie P. Dalton and Martha P. Braden all of Cherryville, special niece Jean Bailey of Gastonia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 PM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating with burial to follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and at other times at the home of Dot and Dennis Wright, Vernon St..
