Emma Maxine Black Parrish, 69, of 124 Brenda Ct., died Friday April 22, 2011 at Hospice at Wendover.
 
She was born in Lincoln Co. on May 18, 1941 a daughter of the late David Fred and Bertha Gail Neill Black. Mrs. Parrish was formerly employed by the Polk Co Schools dietary dept.
 
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Parrish and a son Robbie Dean Harris.
 
Survivors include five sons Nathan Black (Caliza) of Shelby, Gary Hughes (Cindy), of Bessemer City, David Hughes (Tammy) of Graniteville, SC, C. C. Harris (Sherry) of Grover and Sam Harris of Grover, twenty one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and sister Millie Knessi (George) of Cherryville and a special friend James McGraw.
 
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home at 4 PM. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3-4 PM at the funeral home.
