Ellen Iowa Garren Jennings, age 85, of 345 Bess Road, Kings Mountain, died August 16, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, she was born September 8, 1923 in Mecklenburg County a daughter of the late Frank McKennly Garren and Alice Eddie Hyatt Garren. She was retired from Howell Manufacturing Company and a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church.
In additions to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton “Crip” Jennings and daughter Vickie Jennings, a brother, Grady Garren, two sisters Viola Stone and Barbara Weikum.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Shull and husband Bob of Cherryville, Mary Green and Bill of Cherryville, Gail Mellon and husband Eddie of Kings Mountain, brother, Jack Garren and wife Joy of Cherryville, Four Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be August 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 at the church.
