Edith Sellers Smith, 95, of 111 Harrilson Rd., Cherryville formerly of Costner Rd., died Sunday Feb. 7, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover.
 
She was born March 4, 1914 in Cleveland Co.  a daughter of the late Grady and Cleo Sellers Sellers. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Shelby and was a retired seamstress at Cohen’s and Belk Department Stores.
 
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Colin Ray Smith in 2006, brothers Ben and Marvin Sellers, and sisters Ophelia Hamrick, Bertha Eaker, Aileen Leonhardt, and Doris Jones.
 
Survivors include her sisters Vera Eaker of Cherryville and Shirley Gunn and husband Charlie of Mt. Holly special nieces Kay Taylor of Cherryville and Delores White of Boiling Springs, and numerous other loving nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Cloninger officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from 10-10:45 AM.
 
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2622 New Prospect Church Rd., Shelby, NC 28150.
