Edward Leonard “Ed” Hayes, age 77, of 6555 White Oak Farm Road, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte. He was born in Cleveland County on February 10, 1933, the son of the late Rives and Ola Clary Hayes. Ed was a retired house painter and farmer. He was of Bapitst Faith.
Survivors: Wife: Aileen Arrowood Hayes, of the home
Sons and wives: Charles and Terry Hayes of Crouse and Rick and Melba Hayes of Vale, Douglas and Tammy Hayes of Fallston.
Daughter and Husband: Judy and Jeff Leonhardt, of Cherryville
Sister and brother in law: Carolyn and James Kiser of Kings Mountain
Great Grandchildren: Morgan Hayes, Camden Wray, Cooper Hayes, Zoey Hayes, Karson Wray, Andy Hayes, Amber Hayes, Carson Ragsdale, and Chanler Ragsdale.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00AM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will be in the Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
