Herbert Edward “Eddie” Walker, 64 of 840 Sugar Hill Road died Feb. 23, 2011 at his residence. Eddie was born in Cleveland County April 25, 1946 the son of the late James and Frances Mintz Walker. He was a self employed house carpenter and veteran of the US Army during Viet Nam.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Costner Walker.
Survivors include a son James Walker of Lawndale and a daughter Shannon Walker of the home, a sister, Brenda Mays, of Shelby, four grandchildren, Keshia Nicole Mays, Brittney Ann Mays, Darren James Walker, Brandon Wesley Walker, three great-grandchildren, Desaria Davis, Delane Davis, Aiden Washington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:00 noon – 1:45 pm.
