David Lewis Kiser, Sr., 87, passed away Thursday, September 09, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital Lewis was born in Bessemer City son of the late Ransom G. Kiser and the late Ida Jackson Kiser.

 Lewis was a veteran of WW II as a member of Army 86th Blackhawk Division serving in both European and Pacific campaigns.

 Lewis was employed as Sales Manager for Smith Chevrolet in Gastonia prior to owning and operating Kiser Chevrolet in Cherryville.

 Lewis served as Boy Scout leader of Troop 35 at Lutheran Chapel Church for over 15 years.  He was an honorary life member of Oasis Shrine Temple and a longtime member of American Legion Post 100.  He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cherryville.

 Lewis is survived by his dear wife of 67 years, Louise Kiser Kiser of Cherryville.  Additional survivors include son and wife David and Louanna Kiser, son and wife Keith and Kathy Kiser, all of Cherryville, and son and wife Brent and Anita Kiser of Gastonia; grandchildren Brian Kiser and Suzanne Kiser Beam of Cherryville, Meredith Kiser Gaddy of Charlotte, Patrick Kiser of Atlanta, GA and Brandon and Brittany Kiser of Gastonia; great-grandchildren Riley Kiser, Avery and Landry Beam, and Thomas Gaddy; sister Betty Kiser Carpenter of Dallas, NC; brothers Fred and JB Kiser of Charlotte, John Kiser of Bessemer City and Hugh Kiser of Jacksonville, FL.

 In addition to his parents, Lewis is preceded in death by sister Polly Kiser Clemmer and brothers Clyde , Clarence, and Preston Kiser.

 The family will receive friends at Carpenter Funeral Home, Cherryville on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. and additionally at the home of David and Louanna Kiser, 808 Spring Street, Cherryville.  Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church , Cherryville with Dr. Robert Allen officiating.   Internment will follow the service at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery .

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church 310 West Church Street, Cherryville, NC  28021.
