Curtis Lee Beam, 50, of Cherryville died Monday June 14, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the youngest of three sons born on May 22, 1960 to John David and Jean Aderholdt Beam of Cherryville. He was the beloved husband of Jackie Huss Beam. Curtis and Jackie were married on September 13, 1982.
Mr. Beam was a warehouse manager for Standard Distributing Company and enjoyed the outdoors and golfing. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 28 years and parents, include son Turner Beam and wife Emily of Cherryville, brothers Allen “A. B.” Beam and wife Denise of Cherryville, and David Beam of Lexington, NC, In Laws Jack and Pansy Hallman Huss brother in law Gary Huss and wife Beth of Rockwell, , and five nieces Paige Huss, Whitney Adams and husband Jonathan, Liza Burton and husband Jonathan, Sally Falkner and husband John, and Amanda Beam.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Dr. Robert Allen officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at Carpenter’s Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 AM and at other times at the home.
