Christopher “Chris” David Hovis, age 27, of 3367 Philadelphia Church Road, died unexpectedly in his sleep as was found by his mother and sister on Saturday night, January 14, 2012. Chris was born in Gastonia on February 5, 1984. He was a life long member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stanley and employed by Ramsey Construction and Plumbing Company, Dallas as a maintenance person. He is the son of the late David Larry Hovis and survived by his mother, Marcella Chambers Hovis. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Rogers and Naomi Holder Hovis and Howard and Mary Lou Wilson Chambers.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:20PM Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stanley with Pastor Jack McHenry and Pastor Linda McHenry officiating. The family will receive in the church, prior to the service from 1:00PM to 2:15PM. Burial will follow in Antioch Lutheran Church Garden of Peace, Dallas, NC.
