Grover Ray “Bud” Pruett, age 75 of 1003 West Carroll Street, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte. He was born July 28, 1934 in Stanley, the son of the late Horace P. and Annie Anthony Pruett. Bud was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers, Cherryville, where he was employed as a mechanic for 23 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, and a long time member of the Second Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyeen Pruett.
Survivors: Son and daughter in law: Ken and Sue Pruett, of Stanley, N. C. Daughters and sons in law; Tonda and Donnie Dellinger Teela and Scott Allen all of Cherryville Teena and Randy Payne, of Gastonia Sister: Carolyn P. Jenkins of Cherryville Mother of his children: Shirley Pruett Morgan, of Shelby Grandchildren: Sheree Pruett, Annie Dellinger, J. D. and Mandy Whitaker, Becky Whitaker, Randy Payne, Robbie Payne, Matthew Allen, and Dalton Allen.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00PM Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Second Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Staton officiating, Burial will be in the City Memorial Cemetery.
The family is at the home of a daughter Teela Allen 1327 Tot Dellinger Road and will receive friend from 1:30PM to 2:45PM Sunday at the Second Baptist Church.
