Mrs. Addie Juanita Prevatte Smith,
age 90, of Carolina Care Center, died Saturday, January, 17, at her
residence. Juanita was born in Robeson County, N. C. on April 8, 1918
to Rev. Furney A. and Dora Jane Moody Prevatte and a daughter of a
Confederate veteran. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church,
retired supervisor with Danka Inc. Gastonia and was a gifted person who
enjoyed sitting with elderly people. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, Roy Lyle Smith, a son, Charles Eugene Smith, a
grandson Kenneth Edward Johnson and a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, January 20, 2008 at Cone
Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Gibson
officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, January 19 at the
funeral home from 6-8 PM and at other time at the home of Brenda Beam,
732 Helton Road, Cherryville. Interment will be in the Antioch United
Methodist Church Cemetery, Roaring Gap, N. C. (Near Sparta) Tuesday at
3 PM
